As the first joint-stock company in the country, Khazar JSC was founded by the resolution #530 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 21, 1990.
The company's Authorized Fund is 20 billion mantas (March 2000).

In 1995 the company was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan (certificate number 1591).

Due to increase in authorized fund, it was registered by the Ministry of Finances of the Republic of Azerbaijan (# 04/12-430 dated May 16, 1995; # 04/12-197 dated June 6, 1996 and # 01/03/12-29 dated September 5, 1996.) "Khazar" Joint-Stock Company includes 16 economical subjects operating in the country.

The company's central office is located in Sumgayit. Khazar JSC has got a number of representations in other cities as well.
